About the Event

Join us for a festive day of craft and creativity in a cosy barn hidden away in the forest at Little Heath Farm. We will be showing you how to create a set of decorative Felted Baubles, make a sumptuous Macramé Angel and an intricate, Fused-Glass Tealight Lantern.

If you joined us for our workshops last Christmas, you will be learning even more skills, to build on those that you discovered before. But this course is totally beginner-friendly so if it is your first time you will be more than welcome! Here’s a bit more about what to expect:

In the morning Rachel will show you how to make a Macramé Angel from natural, single twist cord. The knots used in this project are very easy to master and the brushing and trimming are the ultimate way to relax in our opinion!

Following a tea break, we will show you how to make a set of three pretty Needle-Felted Baubles from soft merino wool fibres. In this course, Katie will demonstrate how to draw designs in felt and you will learn about working in the round.

After lunch, which will be a choice of quiche and salad or soup and a crusty roll, you will be able to design your own Fused-Glass Tealight Lantern. Jo-anne will show you how to cut and layer glass to create beautiful, intricate designs and then take your glass work away after the event and fuse it in her kiln.

There is a café on site, providing tea, coffee and locally-made cakes if you get peckish while crafting! If you’re driving, there’s plenty of parking available in the car park and also in the lane. Little Heath Farm is also a wonderful plant nursery so you might enjoy a wander among the borders, picking up some new plants for your garden while you’re there.

Some reviews of last year's events

The Christmas workshop was perfect! The 3 projects used totally different materials and skills and the results were great. Katie and Rachel were on hand to help throughout. I went on my own and thought everyone else would be with friends but that wasn't the case. I would definitely recommend this workshop, I had a great morning and made 3 really beautiful Christmas decorations.

The Christmas workshop was a great experience. Despite my limited abilities I left with decorations that I was proud of. Highly recommended.

I attended the Christmas workshop last year under strange COVID driven circumstances and I was so pleased that I did.  We made a wonderful paper based hoop hanging ornament, a felted gnome (I promptly went home and made several more to put as place settings) and 2 different glass hanging tree decorations.  It was great value for money, we learnt so much from really knowledgeable, dedicated teachers and the results were something to be proud of.  It was great fun and we were introduced to such different crafting techniques the time sped by so quickly.  I really look forward to repeat performance this year.

I also did the heirloom fairy workshop, creating a felted ‘ fairy’ for the tree top.  Spread over 2  sessions it was a creative challenge but great fun.  My ‘fairy’ is more of a ‘Crystal Tips on speed’ creation, a busty, crazy haired, middle aged lady and I have been asked to again do another as I have 2 daughters who have both asked for her to be left to them in my will !  I really loved this workshop and will happily do it again if the lovely Bergin and Bath ladies decide to repeat the workshop.

“Bergin and Bath’s Christmas workshop at the Old Mill was absolutely brilliant, I went with 3 friends and we had an amazing time.  We were given 3 crafts to do, a felt Father Christmas, 2 stain glass tree decorations and a paper rose wired wreath.  Katie and Rachel sat down with each group and fully explained how to make and complete each craft and there was plenty of scope for individual interpretation which was encouraged.  The morning was perfect, with refreshments, good company, no stress and lots of laughs.

I would recommend anyone who has ever had the slightest interest in crafts to give it a go. I loved it”
