This set contains three 36 gauge reverse felting needles, each dipped in green to help you spot them easily amongst your other tools.
 
Reverse needles have barbs that work in the opposite direction to standard felting needles. Instead of pushing fibres into your model, they gently pull fibres back out, creating a soft, fluffy finish. They are ideal for adding fine, downy texture to creatures such as baby birds, ducklings, teddy bears and other furry or feathered projects.
 
Each needle has a triangular shaft with evenly spaced reverse barbs, designed to lift out the wool fibres and create a fuzzy surface texture. They are especially useful for finishing small-scale models where rooting in fur would be more fiddly and time-consuming.
 
Felting needles are very brittle, so please handle them with care. They can snap if bent or twisted. Always work on a soft surface to protect your needles — a household sponge will do, or you can add a felting mat to your order.
