A set of three 38 gauge star felting needles, dipped in black so you can easily identify them in your needle collection.
 
These needles are designed for fast felting and are especially useful when working with coarser core wool to build the larger parts of your model. They felt more quickly than standard 40 gauge triangular needles, making them ideal for shaping bodies, heads and core forms. Because they are more aggressive, they are not the best choice for very fine fibres such as merino wool.
 
Each needle has a five-sided star shaft with evenly spaced barbs, designed to catch and tangle the wool fibres together to create felt. The extra surfaces mean more barbs, helping the needle work efficiently through coarser wools such as Herdwick, Shetland, Moorit and other robust fibres.
 
Please take care when using your needles, as felting needles are very brittle and may snap if bent or twisted. Always work on a soft surface such as a sponge, or add a felting mat to your order for extra protection.
