Easy Macrame Make: A Daisy Chain Bag Charm.

Learn to tie this cute little keyring charm - it make a really cute summer accessory and you can make them in all sorts of floral colours too.
This project is a great way to use up spare lengths of cord you may have. Use it as a keyring or add it as a bag charm to your favourite shopper!
YOU WILL NEED:
A key ring or clip.
Three, 1m lengths of 3mm single-twist macramé cord. We used pale green, lilac and honey yellow but you could use any colours you have.
A pair of sharp scissors.
A comb or brush.
Some masking tape.
STEP 1
Take the green cord and fold it in half to find the centre. Place the loop over the keyring. Feed the two ends under the keyring and out though the loop. Pull down to make a larks head knot.
STEP 2
Feed the right hand cord up behind the key ring, bringing the end back down though the loop and pull it tight. Repeat this on the other side with the left cord.
STEP 3
Tape the keyring to the desktop so that it doesn't move around as you work. Overlap the cord ends as shown, right over left.
STEP 4
Take the lilac cord and fold it in half to find the centre. Place this loop beneath the crossed cords.
STEP 5
Feed the two ends up through the loop and pull them down to make a larks head knot.
STEP 6
Pull gently on the green crossed cords. The lilac larks head knot will slide up the green cord. Pull them until it sits neatly below the knots on the keyring.
STEP 7
Take the right lilac cord under the green cord to the outside. Bring it back over and then under the right green cord, pulling it out to the right to tighten the knot.
STEP 8
Take the same cord under, over and back under the green cord.
STEP 9
Gently pull it tight so that there are two knots lined up in a row.
STEP 10
Now repeat the last three steps with the opposite cord. Take the left lilac cord under and out to the outside. Bring it back over and then under the left green cord, pulling it out to the left to tighten the knot.
STEP 11
Take the same cord over and back under the green cord.
STEP 12
Cross over the two lilac cords.
STEP 13
Take the yellow cord and fold it in half to find the centre. Place the loop beneath the crossed cords.
STEP 14
Pull gently on the lilac cords. The yellow larks head knot will slide up the lilac cord. Pull until it sits neatly beneath the lilac knots.
STEP 15
Repeat steps 7 to 11 to add two more knots either side of the centre. You should now be able to count five little bumps (petals) on each side.
STEP 16
Take the two green cords over the others and cross them left over right.
STEP 17
Move the two yellow cords to sit next to the the green ones.
STEP 18
Loop the right lilac cord over and under both the yellow and green cords. Repeat with the lilac cord on the left.
STEP 19
Gently pull the green cords and shuffle the lilac knots up until they sit neatly at the bottom of the flower.
STEP 20
Loop the right-hand green cord OVER the central cords and under the left-hand green cord.
STEP 21
Take the left cord UNDER the central cords and back up through the right loop. Pull the cords tight.
STEP 22
Repeat the last two steps, this time taking the right-hand cord UNDER the central cords and over the left cord. The left-hand cord comes OVER the central cords and through the loop. Pull both ends evenly until the knot slides up neatly below the first one.
STEP 23
Let's make the second flower. Cross the green cord over the central cords again.
STEP 24
Move the yellow cords to sit alongside the green ones.
STEP 25
Loop the right lilac cord over and under both the yellow and green cords. Repeat to loop the lilac cord ove the green and yellow cords on the left.
STEP 26
Gently pull the green cords and shuffle the lilac knots up the cords until they sit neatly at the bottom of the flower.
STEP 27
Repeat steps 7 to 11 again to add two more knots either side of the centre of the flower.
Cross the two lilac cords over the yellow cords, taking the green cords out to the sides.
STEP 28
Loop the yellow cords over and through the lilac cords to create the centre of the flower.
STEP 29
Gently pull the two lilac cords and slide the yellow knots up until they nestle under the lilac knots.
STEP 30
Repeat steps 7 to 11 to add two more lilac knots either side of the centre.
Cross the two green cords over the four central cords.
STEP 31
Loop the lilac cords over and through the green cords, leaving the yellow cords to hang behind.
STEP 32
Gently pull the two green cords and slide the lilac knots up to close up the flower.
STEP 33
Loop the right-hand green cord UNDER the central cords and over the left-hand green cord.
STEP 34
Take the left cord OVER the central cords and through the right-hand loop. Pull the cords tight.
STEP 35
Take the right-hand cord OVER the central cords and under the left cord. The left-hand cord comes UNDER the central cords and through the loop. Pull both ends evenly until the knot slides up neatly below the first one.
STEP 36
Trim the ends of the cords and comb out the fibres to make a pretty fringe.
Clip your daisy chain to your keys or a
bag to add a splash of summer colour!
